This past year marks the largest-ever fly-off participation, with more than 1,000 students on 93 university teams attending onsite. The flyoff was hosted by AIAA Corporate Member Textron Aviation in Wichita, Kan. Teams from 12 countries, including 32 US states participated in the full DBF Competition, including submitting design reports and attending the flyoff.
The University of Georgia’s AIAA student branch began Design, Build, Fly as a capstone project but has since evolved into an official student organization. The club now provides students with ongoing opportunities to engage in hands-on aerospace design experience and is always looking to welcome new members interested in getting involved.
